flydubai Announces Increased Service to Milan Bergamo Starting July 2026

    July 30, 2026

DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – UAE-based airline flydubai has expanded its flight offerings to Italy to meet the rising international travel demand. According to official statements from Emirates News Agency, flydubai is enhancing its Italian operations by adding more flights to key commercial hubs. The revised schedule, effective from July 31, 2026, will see the airline operate double daily flights linking Dubai with Milan-Bergamo, while also strengthening its presence in Naples with daily round-trip flights.

flydubai adds double daily flights to Milan Bergamo from July
Airline management teams allocate commercial fleet capacity to high demand travel markets.

This increased schedule broadens flydubai’s overall reach within Italy, which already includes three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily and twice-weekly seasonal summer flights to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, running through August’s end. Alongside more frequent flights, the airline has announced operational changes due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. Specifically, flydubai will temporarily reroute its daily Dubai International Airport service to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport from November 1 to November 30, 2026. Regular flights to Naples are expected to resume on December 1, 2026, with existing bookings automatically transferred to the Salerno route during this period.

Codeshare Agreement Enhances Passenger Connectivity via Dubai Hub

The expanded routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples are managed under the established codeshare arrangement between flydubai and Emirates, the international flag carrier. This partnership offers travelers integrated travel plans, unified ticketing, synchronized schedules, and through-checked baggage services across both airline networks. Utilizing Dubai’s central hub, passengers connecting from Italian airports can easily access long-haul destinations in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar.

The capacity expansion aligns with wider trends in the Middle East and European aviation sectors, where international passenger numbers have steadily increased post-pandemic. These additional flights support growing bilateral trade, business investments, and leisure tourism between the United Arab Emirates and Italy. The increased double-daily flights to Milan-Bergamo offer more seats for business travelers heading to Italy’s key financial and industrial hub, while daily services to Southern Italy cater to seasonal tourists visiting the historic sites along the Amalfi Coast.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, commented on the network expansion, emphasizing that Naples and Milan have become vital gateways in the airline’s European network. He stressed that maintaining consistent regional access remains a priority, alongside a long-term commitment to improving connectivity to underserved markets. Al Ghaith further noted that market data shows the airline is bolstering its operations in Italy by adding strategic frequencies to support the rising flow of passengers between the UAE and Italy, especially as travel volumes accelerate heading into the winter season.

Regional Airports Offer Direct Routes for Travelers

Jeyhun Efendi, flydubai’s Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce, highlighted that increasing direct flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo underscores the importance of the Italian market for the airline. Efendi explained that non-stop connections allow international travelers to leverage the combined networks of flydubai and Emirates for seamless access to major global destinations through Dubai. He confirmed that fleet planning and operational teams are ready to support the increased daily flight operations, ensuring high reliability across both passenger and cargo services.

These operational enhancements in Italy are part of flydubai’s broader fleet expansion and international network growth strategy. As the airline continues to acquire modern narrow-body aircraft, it aims to increase frequencies on high-demand routes across Europe. The new Italian flight schedules reinforce Dubai’s role as a global aviation hub, facilitating smooth passenger and freight movement between European origins and expanding destinations across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
